Jen Hunt
Jen Hunt developed Kickstart: Number Sense in response to needs she saw while working with teachers in over 100 school districts throughout the Northwest. Before becoming a consultant and author, Jen was a classroom teacher in grades K–2. She uses her degrees in education and psychology to approach teaching through the lens of child development, brain research, and best practice. She specializes in small-group math instruction, number sense, primary interventions, maximizing management for efficiency, and reflective practice.
Laura Nelson
Laura Nelson combines decades of elementary teaching experience with her background in advertising and visual design to support and coach elementary educators in all aspects of math instruction. Consulting full-time since 2014, Laura focuses on bridging the art and creativity of teaching with research-based strategies and ideas. Laura holds a bachelor of arts in journalism from the University of Oregon and a master of science in curriculum and instruction from Portland State University.
